Nifty Thrifty

These are my thrifting finds from Wednesday. Gosh, was that just yesterday?  I got some more shoes to paint. I have one pair painted but I haven't sprayed them or taken pictures yet. I got this great hopper! It's a tennis ball hopper and when I first saw it I wanted it. I was so disappointed that it was $7 because that was more than I was willing to pay. I looked at the price again and realized it was $2, not $7! Yay. I have it in my laundry room where it will house extra toilet paper and then the iron fits just perfectly on top and it adds a little color to the laundry room. It matches my bottles. :D

I also got a nice big bag of beads. Most of them are plastic, but they will make some cute bookmarks. I did find some glass beads in there, too and some nice earring findings that I didn't even know were there.

When I saw the mirror, I immediately thought of the mirrors that Debbie found at a yard sale. I was really admiring her little round mirrors so I was tickled pink when I found this little number. It's hanging in the bedroom. I may move it later but I needed something to replace the shelf that I just painted and moved to the dining room.

So, that's my haul. I couldn't take the yard any more so I went out before 8am and mowed this morning. I didn't get it all finished but at least it looks like I care. lol I also weedeated. Man. I couldn't use my arm for hours. It didn't hurt..it just didn't work. Weird feeling. I am grateful that it is now back in working condition.

You guys are so wonderful. I appreciated all the sweet comments.  Now I need to go and get caught up on your blogs! See ya later.

I'm in love with that little mirror! I found a great big bag of beads once that I let my children use to my necklaces. I never thought of making something with them myself....

I really like the mirror, too. Imagine someone giving that away. :)

I have been looking for some vintage baubles and such for bookthongs. These weren't exactly it but they will probably make some cute kids' bookthongs. I think it's awesome that you let your kids use the beads!

Looks like you had a great day out thrifting. I love thrift stores, garage sales and flea markets. Can't wait to make it to the states to enjoy some of those.

The little shoes are cute! :0)

What great finds Lisa. I love the big bag of beads! What are vintage baubles? Little B likes to make necklaces out of beads, but I don't often get them out because little L will most probably ingest some, lol.

Hi. Thanks for all the nice comments on my new blog. I hope you'll like me too, and I hope you woun't pay to much attention to my grammar.

It's strange that some people give away pretty things like your mirror.

Shereen Oops! Tell the 4th kid I'm sorry. lol

Tori, I really enjoy it. I despise shopping in stores where things are new. lol I hope you get to come back and do some shopping soon. Welcome to Groggy Froggy by the way. :)

Sarah, hi! Baubles...hmmm When I say baubles, I mean those big, gaudy looking beads they used on costume jewelry back in the day. Or anything kind of like a charm or something but with that vintage look to it.

Plainandsimple, lol magpies are good!

Elisabeth, I'm really enjoying the mirror. It makes me smile every time I look at it. I changed my bedroom today to be more compatible with it even. lol

Hulda, oh you mean you like the roses? hehe ;)

Kjersti, I thought the same thing..."someone gave this away??"
Your grammar seems just fine to me. Hey, I don't know any Norwegian! I admire so much that you can speak more than your own language.

Hi- I just came over from Emma's site (Hearth and Home). I love your thrifting finds. I love garage saleing and went out today and came home with NOTHING. That's probably a first. I wasn't too happy about it either. I usually can find some books or plants to take home at least, but today there was nothing. There's always next week...

Tanya, Welcome! I'm glad you came over. I can imagine you are disappointed to come home with nothing. It seems that there is always something at a garage sale. It's good you didn't buy something just to be buying it, though!
