Nick....last day with braces!!!
Yesterday was Nick's last day with braces. I took him to the ortho at 8 am and a little after 9 am I picked him up.
He took good care of them and they're white and straight and beautiful. The ortho gave him lots of food that would be out of the question to eat with braces...taffy, popcorn, cracker jacks. lol He was so excited to eat without them. F-r--e-e-d--o-m.

I had such braces too, when I was at his age. And I was really happy when I could take it off. :o)

I had braces not too long ago, a little less than two years ago. It felt so good to have them off. He must be on cloud 9. lol I remember just wanting to be able to give my beloved a big "normal" kiss. lol His teeth look great. Tell him not to forget to wear his retainer. I know so many people who wore braces, and they stopped wearing the retainer, and they look as if they never had had braces. ;0(

Hulda, he said it was weird to wake up and having nothing pushing on his teeth. :) weird, in a good way.
Kelleigh yes and a relief that the teeth are still healthy. I was worried but he was really good about cleaning them well.
Shereen I had no idea! I will be sure to stress the importance of wearing the retainer. They made the impression the day he got the braces off but he doesn't have it yet.
What a beautiful smile. I bet that was worth seeing, after all the money it cost for the braces !!

My daughter who's seven has just gotten her permanent front teeth and it looks like she *may* need braces in a few years. We'll see!
And one of my good friends, who is a mom and 32, recently just got her adult braces off- and she looks great, too!

I'm back. I was without the internet for 2 whole days...I feel like I should be on "Survivor" or something. lol I missed everyone.

I just came to check up on you, I thought maybe my blogline thing for you wasn't working properly because I hadn't seen a post from you. I got a little worried. I'm happy to see that it was just an internet problem and nothing more serious. Did Nick get his retainers yet? If I go 2 days without wearing mine at night, my teeth will have already shifted. I can tell because my teeth hurt when I put them on. I had to wear mine 24 hours a day for the first year, and now I only wear mine at night. Glad to see you are okay.

Shereen, We just got his retainer today and I've told him several times to remember what you said..."that's why Shereen said.....wear your retainer." lol The orthodontist should thank you. :)
