Advent Candles
Originally uploaded by GroggyFroggy.
I made these little tags today from laminate samples. I've been seeing Advent candles on some pretty blogs. (mostly the ladies in Norway, I think) I love the idea of lighting a candle each Advent Sunday. I got started a little late, but I decided not to let that stop me.

I have had a quiet craft day. We went out yesterday so today I was in all day, just making things and rearranging things and blogging and all that comforting stuff.

I have choir rehearsal tonight and even though I would love to just stay in and continue what I'm doing, I'm also looking forward to rehearsal and seeing my friends.

I hope you've all had a good day. I know I've already put a bunch of pictures up today but I wanted to add this one because I was excited about the candles. lol I was able to make a new decoration without spending a dime. I wandered around the house, looking with new eyes and realized I had everything I needed. I love it when that happens.

I have my advent wreath up, nearly finished - I decorate it over a few days - I love them and for my *hedgwitchery twist* to celebrate summer solstice - I add a red candle in the centre.
I love traditions!

Your candles are pretty, for my advent 'wreath' (if you could call it a wreath) I had to use tea lights because I couldn't find nice tall candles locally, but well it's the first time I've 'done' Advent so I don't suppose it matters (you might have seen my post I had it all laid out on a plate, lol!).

Glad you had a nice pottering day (as my Mum calls them) sometimes they're just the best kind of day :)

Hi Lisa, yes I am fine but have been so busy with my Mother and Christmas that I have not had time to get round the blogs as much, and to post on Violette's notice board. I have just done a posting on my site about it all.

It is nice to see your Advent Candles. Isn't that a tradition in USA? We have done it as long as I could remember, and my parents too. It look nice, and it is always so cosy with the candles and the time we spend with the people we love.

Do you know an author named Joni Eareckson Tada? She has written a lovely Christmas book.

These are lovely. I grew up with an advent tradition and enjoy it so much now with my own children. So many goodies in your other post! That "Me" is one talented lady!

Hello sweetiepie

I am catching up on the lovely posts you have written over the last or 5 days. And like my friend Julie I can feel your loving and peaceful heart.

I love your advent tags. What a beautiful idea!

And I can imagine your face asnd your soul lighting up as you sing in your choir.

My mum is in several choirs and over the years,as I have watched her sing, I have witnessed the joy she is feeling. Am sure it is the same for you.

Much love

Dotee xoxo
