In the Spirit

After being with so many people yesterday, though it was truly lovely, today I needed to nurture my hermit spirit.

Creating this doll seemed to do the trick.

I've recycled a paintbrush and built around it. You can see the brush part at the top of the head. Now I don't feel quite so bad about forgetting to clean the brush and letting it get all hard and unusable.

I'm not sure if he/she is finished. I think some beads might be nice but for now I am stopping and just enjoying having completed a doll for the first time in ages.

I don't think I will wait so long in the future. It felt so good to be in that creative space again today.

To my friends who are going through such difficulties right now, I wish you peace, joy, health and much love. Know that you are in so many hearts all over the world.

Lisa,

the doll is so cute. I wonder why we tend to forget how important this creative time and time alone is. I am glad you had a little of both.

I understand the need for alone time. I'm the same way.

Your dolls are always so unique. I love the one I have and it hangs right next to my worktable where I can see it all the time.

She's gorgeous! You're right, loads of people have felt the need to 'do nothing' towards the end of last week... new moon energies!

Your doll is really cool. I like the idea of using a paintbrush.
It seems as the years go on, I need more and more hermit time for myself after being around lots of people. Glad you found some quiet creative time for yourself.

Hi Lisa, I really like the doll you made, is the face made of clay from a mold? Very cool. Thank you for visiting my blog leaving me a comment. :-)

Miss Spirit Doll is wonderful. The spirit of your art is within her, thanks to her beginning as a paint brush, and your creativity. Thanks too for your heartfelt prayer for all of us. Your own spirit shines through. xoxoxo

Lisa I clicked over here from a comment you left at Stacy's mandala blog - having just seen her mandala with wings in the margins, it was a synchronicity to come here and find your spirit doll with wings also
