WIP Doll

This is the doll I'm working on right now. The face is from a vintage image that Izabella so generously shared with our Creative Souls group. I printed the image on a transparency and then transferred it to muslin using mod podge. I'm really happy with the detail that made it onto the muslin. I used the matte mod podge. I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not. I'd experiment if I had some glossy here.

The pretty pink fabric is from a pair of baby pants I bought at GoodWill.

I mopped the kitchen floor this morning and shot a little video for a project that I'm working on. I dusted and vacuumed and now I'm hanging with you guys while I eat some lunch.

I think I'll go for a walk today. I'm trying really hard not to smoke. I caved yesterday but today everytime I want one, I go look in the mirror. It's really messing with my skin so that should be a good incentive. Yeah, vanity over good health. I know.

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Lisa, love your doll...she's got spunk and attitude...and how smart to find her material at Goodwill...never would have known that just to be baby's dress...seems appropriate for this project though...I see you smoke free, breathing deeply and happily admiring the fresh new layers of your beautiful, healthy skin!

Aloha Lisa,
Thank you for emailing me the link to Artella daily muse. you really are a talent!
Good luck with the smoke thing, it's definately a one day at a time thing.
Mr Dan quit a few winters back, cold turkey and drove me nuts until his cravings subsided.. I know you will have the power within to make not smoking permanant.. :)

Thanks everyone, so much! I've quit smoking before, cold turkey, and it wasn't even hard. I quit for a year and a half. I guess when I'm ready to, it'll happen because I wasn't even planning to quit. I just got up and said, "I'm not going to smoke today" and just didn't. lol

Kai, maybe someone else emailed you the link? I don't think I was that forward-thinking. lol Good thought for next time, though. Thanks for all your kind words.

Love you all.

Oh, good luck with keeping your lungs nice and clean. It's not easy, but it's a day-by-day thing, and it can be done. I'm 8 years smoke-free now (after 28 years as a smoker). Little treats and incentives. I'm rooting for you!

Oh, that doll is funky and divine. I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble with the smoking. Smoke-free thoughts coming your way from me!

Great doll--she has personality + !

Good luck on quitting smoking--it's not the easiest thing in the world--but you are really doing yourself a big favor. I quit 5 years ago--cold turkey in the middle of the day! lol I'm a little weird that way. :oD YOU CAN DO IT!

Smiles, Karen
