Sacred Artful Blogging

It's a crisp, cool September Sunday. We've had breakfast and cleaned up and now Patrick is getting the ribs ready to smoke. mmm mmmm

It's been a long week of working. I got a promotion and a raise. That felt good. I was upfront with them about the writing and my desire to do it full-time. We're going to play it by ear. It does feel good to have some income to play with, especially with Christmas coming and all.

Last weekend, Patrick and I walked over to the next street to check out a yard sale. We came away with this table for the bathroom. It was $10.00. I love it.

I've had these star baskets forever. I used to put a tea light in them but they never sat exactly the way I thought they should. Friday I went to ACMoore on my lunch break and bought some fall leaves, a couple of little pumpkins and some bird eggs and filled the baskets. I really like it. I'll continue to do something seasonal with them.

The cooler air is bringing creativity and nesting instincts to me. I am enjoying these sensations in a new apartment. It's like a blank canvas, just waiting for us to put our marks upon it.

Yesterday, it was so beautiful that I just had to get outside for my lunch break. I walked to Barnes&Nobel and grabbed a couple of magazines. The clerk said "$14.95 for a magazine? Are they insane?"

How could he know the priceless treasure that waited inside its pages? If you haven't picked up a copy of Artful Blogging yet, you are in for a visual and soulful treat.

Maybe you would like to submit your blog. There are so many I can think of off the top of my head that I would love to see spotlighted.

As I walked around the exterior of the mall yesterday, I was noticing the longer shadows cast by the trees. Autumn is upon us.

I love the briskness of the breeze and the brightness of the blue skies.

I love seeing Patrick in his warm, cozy clothes that have replaced his shorts and tees, at least for this morning.

I love wearing jeans and sweaters and long sleeve cotton shirts.

I love hearing the leaves rustle as they cling for a few more weeks before making way for winter's rest and spring's new birth.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Much love to you.

Lisa--this is such a great post, filled with the little victories of your day. Congratulations both on the promotion/raise and on your most-excellent yard sale find!

Autumn is a time that can be a joy when you focus on the snuggling that the chill in the air promotes, or depressing if you focus on the gardens waning. I'm with you: let's enjoy the urge to snuggle!

Once again I have to say, you sound so happy and content. All your observances tell me that you love your life and love where you are right now. That's fantastic!

I have those same star baskets! Last year I put tiny Christmas balls inside and hung it from the mantle. Maybe I'll put some leaves and goodies in for fall like you did.

PS - I had the same reaction when I bought that magazine but I love it!!
