Tomorrow. After the Sale.

Now listed in my Etsy shop. Everything else will remain half-price until I get home from work this evening.

Have a great day everyone.

Please forgive the blurry close-ups. I gave up the scanner when I left.

Tomorrow I will be listing this.

I have been enjoying my day off today. I've been up to my knuckles in mod podge and paint.

Playing with bits of paper sure has a way of focusing my mind.

I bought two wooden crosses a number of months ago but wasn't sure what I'd do with them.

Today I decided to paint one.

Then, I decided to collage it. I've used acrylics, watercolors and alcohol inks.

The alcohol inks, by the way, worked great to change the color of the flower petals. I didn't like the baby blue color so I just added a few drops and it has a tiedye effect that I really like. I also used the alcohol ink on the button. I have yet to use it as it's "supposed" to be used, but I sure am enjoying it.

The picture of Jesus is from an old picture book. The butterflies are stamped and then filled in with paint and some permaopaque pens.

At the top of the cross, across Jesus' neck/chest area, are the words, "To find the center." This was from a chart cheat sheet for cross stitch.

There's a fortune at the bottom of the cross that says, "You discover treasures where others see nothing unusual." I think it's fair to say that Jesus did that.

I enjoyed painting and sanding, making it look a little worn.

I love fortune Cookies and one I opened up had the same fortune you put on this piece.
As follows I put this one on a Magnet: "Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life." John 6:27 It was in a Cookie I bought from a Christian Book Store. It's on the Refrigerator.
