This is Nick, my older son, working on his Father's Day present. His daddy's hammock was falling apart, so we sneaked to his house when he wasn't there and took it. Then we went to Lowe's and bought rope and Nick worked on it all day Saturday. He just looked at the old one and figured out how to do it.

This was a present from both the boys, seeing as their benefactor spent more on rope than she anticipated. lol Dad was blown away. He said "Some day we're going to find something you CAN'T do, Nick."

Tim got a phone call and a nice card from his daughter. Caleb has been working so much that he didn't get a chance to get a gift. I ordered him some books that he wanted but they weren't going to come in in time for Father's Day so I bought him a couple of flashlights (different sizes). He really needs one for work, plus he just likes them. :)

That's Father's Day in a kind of quirky, messed-up but fully functional family. :)

Excellent job on the hammok! Amazing that he did that himself.

Sounds like you all had a pleasant day. :)

We did, thanks.

I guess I'm a little partial, but that boy amazes me sometimes. :)

Hulda, yes his father was very excited about it.

His hair is very thick, too. He's my little hippy. :)

Yes! A very nice dream! Thanks for your comments on my flowers. I have been playing with it all morning; accomplishing nothing at home! :)

I love that picture. It looks so nice. For some reason, him making the hammock goes great with the long hair. They sort of fit. I know that doesn't make sense. But I think it looks cool.

Mrs. B. I think so, but I'm a little partial to him. hehe

Shereen, makes sense to me. lol He's my little hippy boy.

What a lovely gift! It is so wonderful to receive a gift that has been worked on in love and not just quickly picked up from a shop (my trick - I'm too forgetful)! Although I did make my Dad something this year.

Gosh i thot that was my brother, Kevin, in the 70s with the hair; love it!!! How super he can knot a hammock; that is difficult! My son loved his hammock, some of my best memories are of him laying in his hammock knowing he was enjoying the solitude, warmth of the sun and soft breezes. RE: Flashlights..what is up with men and flashlights anyway? Retailers know the men need more; it is possible to purchase at least 80 different types! Easy gifting ;) HAHAHAH love you lisa, nice to see this blogpage... enjoying the pictures and what you love..you make a homey home - blessings, karen

Karen, yep, Nick was born in the wrong era. LOL I'm glad you have happy memories of Jeff like the hammock one. I know that's how he'd like you to think of him. The page his friends made for him really said alot about the type of person he was.

I don't know about this flashlight thing...from Tim right down to Michael, they all think they're the best thing going. lol

Thanks for you sweet comments. It's so good to "see" you. Love you.
