Help!

I should be doing so many things today. I don't feel like doing any of them. Do you ever feel that way? How do you re-energize yourself? How do you keep yourself motivated?

I guess I already know what I have to do. My mom always taught me that the only way to feel like doing something some times is just to do it..then you feel like doing more. That usually works for me. It's that first step to doing it that's the hardest.

Do you have any special tricks to getting yourself moving? Share, share!

To get myself started often I'll tell myself, "just do it for 10 minutes then if you want to stop you can." I almost NEVER stop but giving myself permission to seems to help me start.

Hope this is helpful! (o:

My tip is to "reward" myself: after I've done the cleaning then I can get sewing! ;)

I think I'm like you. I just do it even when it is the last thing in the world I want to do. Most of the time I end up doing a lot more because that gives me the energy and motivation to continue. But starting is always the hard part ;)

Well, it sounds like there is no magic pill. LOL "Just do it" seems to be the theme. :) Thanks so much ladies. I like the reward part, too, Isabelle. I think I've been rewarding myself first and that makes it hard to enjoy! No more sewing, painting, stitching or fun stuff until I work for a bit. :)

I did clear my sewing machine off the dining room table. lol and the most dreaded job of all...gave my motherinlaw a shower. She makes it much more difficult than it needs to be. lol But it's done..she's clean and I feel better. :)

I'm with your mom, sometimes I just have to do it. I tell myself it's my responsibility and no-one else is going to do it and heave myself up out of my chair. Today has been hard because it's been such a lovely day, I was so tired I kept going dizzy (so I sneaked a 1/2 hour snooze with B who was tired too). The house had disintegrated into a nightmare, but all I wanted to do was sit on the swing with a cold drink. So I did for a bit and then pulled myself together. So house is reasonable now, phew. So no special tricks just gritting of teeth! Lol :o)

Wow. If even the superhero doesn't have any tricks, I guess it's hopeless. LOL

I agree with isabelle, rewarding! I use that too, when I had to do something very boring. Such as cleaning the house. And, your Mom said something smart too, I think.
And a tidy house is a much nicer place to be, than an untidy one! ;)

I put some good Christian music on and that always gets me motivated. I work and sing until my heart's content.
