Happy Birthday Nick. I said a birthday prayer for him. After we sing Happy B-day in our house, we thank the Lord for the past year, and ask for blessings for the new year to come. I hope you don't mind. He really does look like you. ;0) I think your hair came out so cute. Nice and cool for the summer heat.

Nick said "cool!" when I told him of all the well wishes for his birthday.

Cindi, yep...I guess you were at UVA while I was in Community. lol

Isabelle, he has a heart to match. You are so kind, thank you.

Kristi, thanks for the birthday wishes for Nick...
...and thanks for the hair compliment, too. :)

Shereen, I love that you said a prayer for him. Thanks so much. I like your birthday tradition.

Happy birthday to Nick. I'm with Emma, I can't imagine my babies growing so big. You are obviously so proud of him and I bet he's proud of you. Blessings.

Happy birthday to Nick! you are making a party tonight, then?

I remember when I could't imagine it and now I can hardly believe it.

Hulda, we're not having a party. I gave him his gift this morning and then took him out for lunch, just the two of us. He got to choose the place. We went to the Happy Belly Deli. lol Isn't that a great name? It's the delicatessan in our natural foods co-op here. We had yummy sandwiches and he had a fruit smoothie. :)

Sarah, actually I think he's probably pretty unhappy about now. He wanted dreadlocks and has been asking for them for a year. I thought that either he would stop wanting them or I would change my own mind by his birthday. Unfortunately, neither has happened. I cannot bring myself to let him get dreads...he hasn't asked yet but I'm sure he's figured out by now that it's not happening. I know he's disappointed and I just hate it, but....dreadlocks!..I just can't!

unhappy with me, I meant to say.

Lisa, I think it sounds like a very nice birthday celebration. It is cosy to eat in a restaurant/cafè now and then. :)We use to go out for pizza, it is really good! I just love pizza. :)

Happy Birthday and best wishes to your Nick...I'm with you, I have no idea where the time has gone so fast?
He reminds me of my boy...doesn't look like he can stand still long enough for a picture..hehehe.
Loved your photo and your hair is similar to mine, after the haircut I had last week!
I also spotted the teeny weeny jug cover...it's lovely, I collect them and think they're sweet.
Enjoy your day!

Hulda, I like pizza too. Yummm.

Karen, thank you. (and that makes me feel better. lol)

Kali, thank you for wishes for Nick. How neat that we have similar hair cuts.

The jug cover is actually the same one I had on in another picture. I moved it to this little creamer. I'm going to try making one with fabric, crocheting the little trim for the beads around the edge. It makes me happy that you collect them. lol Don't ask me why. I just think they're so neat and only recently knew they existed. :)

I am not looking forward to that part of teenagerdom where they want things that I don't want them to have or that I don't think are appropriate. But I agree, dreadlocks are just dread-ful ;o) I've known a few people who have had them, one lad in particular was worst, I'm sure there were things living in his hair! Lol.
