Meet Murdock

A good friend of mine fosters kittens from the SPCA Shelter regularly.

She has asked us a couple of times if we could foster a kitten and we always said no without much thought.

But last week, she told us about Murdock. He's been in the shelter for 6 months. He's 3 years old and has put on a bunch of weight lately. She wondered if we could just foster him for a week or two so he could get some exercise.

Patrick looked at my face and said he could tell that I wanted to.

I can't explain it. I had no reservations. It was an immediate "yes" in my heart.

Michael and I picked him up on Friday and by Saturday, we knew he was going to live with us forever.

It is meant to be.

I have missed Zeke, though he was a pain in the neck. I do get to visit him and he is wonderfully happy and healthy, living with my older son, Nick. So I don't feel too guilty about wanting another cat.

One day during the summer, I thought I heard a cat crying. I looked and looked but never found anything and never heard the cry again. Wally, the neighborhood cat, actually belonged to our landlord's daughter. Just prior to this incident, she had taken Wally to Vermont to finally get to live with her daughter. So I knew it wasn't Wally.

Right there, I secretly wished to the Universe that a cat would come to us. I hear so often that if it's the right cat, it will find you...not the other way around.

I realize now that that is exactly what happened.

We said "yes" to a friend and received a huge gift.

♥ Welcome home, Murdock. ♥

I'm so happy for both you and for 'Murdock'!!!

It's been quite a while, since we had a house cat. And the longer it is, the harder it is to think about getting another... But you are ready, and that's perfect.

Gentle hugs...

I love this story! So many people will overlook cats that aren't kittens anymore, much less a black cat with more to love. I have two black cats, well, one's a tux. kitty and they give so much joy. I am so glad Murdock found you. May all of you receive sweet blessings and love.

I'm happy for you. I wish so much that I weren't afraid of animals. It's not that I don't like them but fear keeps me away. Not sure where this began but is definitely here now. I've never really had a pet except for a bird. Lucky you..such a beautiful cat.

I think you're right saying that "the right cat will find you". I'm sure that's what happened for you. I know that it's what happened for me when I got my Diesel.
Enjoy the furry purring love!
Hugs,
Sophie

Murdock is mighty handsome , reminds me of my " Buddy ". I believe cats do have a way of finding you , my black kitty was sitting at the door of my business almost 14 years ago , waiting for me to take him home. I've really enjoyed having him around , he's very special to me.

Awwwww, well, with all the blogs after getting him, it seems he is truly "home". Perhaps you found your kitty soulmate?
