Smudge Bundles and New Books

I harvested some sage, rosemary and lavender yesterday. I separated them into two bundles and now they're rolled up in paper to dry out. I haven't tried this paper method before so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out. The apartment sure smells good.

I walked to the post office yesterday to ship a smudge stick I made last week for a friend and also to send another friend (Hi Pam!) her birthday present that I've had made for three years. Procrastiwhat?

While I was out enjoying the cool morning, I took a walk through the co-op and picked up some Roastaroma tea from Celestial Seasonings. Sometimes I would really love a cup of coffee in the evening but I know it would keep me up. Roastaroma will be a nice alternative. I also picked up some almonds and dried mango slices for snacking. I love the mangos but probably won't choose them next time. I didn't read the label to see that they are completely covered in sugar. They are yummy, though, I have to say.

I also went to the used bookstore. I picked up two books that I am enjoying very much. The first one is Magical Spells for Your Home by Anne-Marie Gallagher and the second is Holistic Home by Joanna Trevelyan.

Both are filled with simple ways of making your home a sacred, nurturing space and they're both filled with beautiful images.

Today is the day we put out the weekly update and I have a few new coupons to make and a new contest so that will keep me busy for a while this morning. Then I hope to play a little.

Life is good.

Oh, I bet the herbs make the
house smell lovely!!

I think it is sage that was used back in the day that was hung by the windows to keep out the flies.
Must of been before screens.

I think it is a good gargle when
you have a sore throut too. You
can look it up on Farmers Almanac
about it.

I'd like to get more into the Holistic Home. Even some funitures
are not good for the home, I've read and heard about.

Glad to hear Life is Good!!

God Bless You and Yours!!!

PS. Have you ever soaked your
almonds before eating them and
have you ever made your own
almond milk?

I watched a video about eating
raw foods and making almond milk
is simple to do and I think she
mentioned soaking almonds also.

Looking forward to getting her
non cook book. If one does'nt
cook the food, I am not sure if
you can call it a cook book. So
that is why I put non in front
of cook book. lol!

God Bless You and Yours!!!

Hi! The same thing happened to me with the dried mango. No wonder my 7-year-old loves them, all sugar!

I'm interested to see how you make your smudge sticks. I used the newspaper method recently, and it worked well. I think my smudge sticks ended up being too much stick and not enough leaf. =[

Peace,
Chris........

Ooh, I've always wanted to make smudge sticks. I even have all three of those growing!! (I've been told I couldn't use the sage around here for smudging though)
How do you make them??

What kind of paper do you roll your smudge sticks in? I was thinking of trying paper too, but I wasn't sure. I usually just roll them alone and tie them.

Your new books sound lovely. Take care.

My garden isn't doing much of anything this year. So sad...I love making my own smudge sticks, doesn't look like I will be doing it this year. I bet your house does smell wonderful. One of my favorite things to do in the fall is walking around down town, all the little shops and cafes are so inviting. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

I was checking out your blog (which is delightful) & I noticed you found a copy of Anne Marie Gallagher's "Magickal Spells"...
I found that in a B&N bargain bin a few years back! It's still floating around, lol.. It's actually a good little book.
enjoy it!
Oh, Your smudge looks lovely!
