Our neighbor (and now landlord) Jan, gave us these peonies from her garden on Mother's Day.
I commented on how pretty they were and she said, "want a bouquet?" and cut some for me. They smell so good.
I love the fragrance of the air in May. It's one of my favorite things. I was standing out in the mist this morning, listening to the birds, watching them play when a nice stream of honeysuckle scent wafted past me. I love those moments.
Ozark Gypsy had this little poem on her blog and I read it this morning for the first time. It seems just right to share at this moment.
Have a great day.
She calls the poem "Little Miracles."
The man whispered, "God, speak to me" and a meadowlark sang.
But, the man did not hear.
So the man yelled, "God, speak to me" and the thunder rolled across the sky.
But, the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, "God let me see you." and a star shined brightly.
But the man did not notice.
And, the man shouted, "God show me a miracle." And, a life was born.
But, the man did not know.
So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me God, and let me know you are here." Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly from his shoulder and walked away disappointed.
Lovely poem and lovely bouquet!

Wonderful poem! And the peonies are gorgeous....they always look so lush and extravagant. The smells of flowers and other blossoms is most intoxicating at this time of year.

Gorgeous peonies - and great poem. I love all the flower scents in the air this time of year. I wish I could bottle up the fragrances in my front yard with all the roses, jasmine and orange blossoms blooming.
The flowers are fab and so is the poem. I'm so glad we have "met"!
That was such a lovely poem you shared. The peonies are wonderful in Roanoke right now aren't they? You have a very generous landlord and friend.~
I love peonies. These are gorgeous. Great photos.
I wanted to thank you for following my blog and encourage you to comment for a chance to win a necklace or a mermaid. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks for following me I really appreciate it.
so glad we have connected again Lisa xoxo
am off to read some more of your lovely blog xo
The flowers are beautiful and the poem gave me chills. Isn't it strange how many of us go through life wondering why the Divine has left us, but ignoring The Great Power that is all around us? Thanks for sharing so much beauty.
BTW, I left you an award at Pagan Culture!
A lovely post in all ways... the peonies, the poem & your neighbour!
Those Peonies are so beautiful! I love the poem too. I bet those flowers smelled so nice too.
