Weekend Decorating

It's been the most beautiful weekend here in Roanoke. Patrick grilled both days and I did a little redecorating. Shopping at home is the best.

Saturday morning, he got up before I did so he made coffee and brought it to me in bed. So I went through some crafty books I had beside the bed. At the end of one book was this funky rooster print. I ripped it out carefully and put it in a frame and put it in the kitchen. I had been wanting something with roosters or chickens for over the sink and this just fit the bill...and it was FREE! (oops, I see my paint brushes are still sitting by the sink. I painted a little box for the bathroom..you'll see the little dolly sitting on it.)

What makes them funky? I don't know if you can see in the pic (maybe if you click on it?), but one rooster is zebra striped and the other has leopard spots. hehe

Combining my prim leanings with Patrick's Folk Art, I have this corner that I'm calling Funky Prim. lol I'm not so sure about that little pic in the corner. I took it from the bathroom and just stuck it there but I have a feeling it will come down in the morning.

This is my little project table in the kitchen. There are a few things sitting there that will become, hopefully, prim decorations. Well, and Patrick's shirt in the top tier that needs ironed. :)

This is the newest thing, just done this evening. I want to paint the rack black but in the meantime, it fills a space that was lacking. The stitchery is one of my new flour sack dishcloths that I stitched this summer. Tonight I coffee dyed it and it's still drying as you see it in the pic. I plan to paint those little stars black and fill them with yummy prim things.

This is the little table in the bathroom. I had to stand in the bathtub to take this. lol The little doll is one that Sherrie Nordgren threw in when Judie bought the sweetie up above for me. She had her in a really cute little purple Halloween dress. I carefully took it off of her for now so I can use her in a not-halloween setting. I covered her with a little crochet doily I made. It was fun walking around the apartment to see what I could make "prim." I'm pretty happy with it right now.

I brought the garden bench in. It just barely fits beside the toilet. The basket that's sitting on it holds our extra tp. I'm seriously considering tea or coffee dying that curtain and maybe the shower curtain which is equally white. The stitchery over the toilet is the one I used for my blog background.

There's a lot more I want to do to the bathroom but for now, I'm much happier with it than I was.

That's it for me this weekend. It was a great one. My son Mike's girlfriend drove in from college and visited with us and that was nice. As I said, Patrick grilled, so we had yummy food and it was so warm we've had the windows open.

What a nice November gift!
