Sacred Corners

I haven't done anything artful this weekend, though I do think playing house is creative. So, here's a corner in our bedroom that I'm pretty pleased with (finally). My painting found a good spot. If you enlarge the photo, please ignore the horrid walls. Our landlord owns a construction company and apparently has outfitted this apartment with things yanked from other places. They are really flakey about letting me paint even though nothing in this apartment is the same color. He finally conceded to let us paint the dark livingroom walls, but we've decided that since we've lived with them this way for over 2 years, we'll just save our paint money for our next place. We won't be staying another year here. So we live with the scrapes and holes and weird corner bar for hanging clothes (that falls down if you actually hang clothes on it). As you can see, I haven't painted that table yet, either. I know. I'm a slacker.

This is the altar in the livingroom with Patrick's really cool monks behind it. I cut a doll from that fabric a while back and this is what husband saw in what was left behind. How could I help but love this man?

Here's a blurry closeup of the altar. Hey, there is a piece of my art you haven't seen before. I made the incense holder. I made it with paper clay and then painted it. I wasn't sure how it would hold up but it's been at least a year now and I even dropped it yesterday without breakage. :) Everything on our altar table was either thrifted or gifted.

Bear with me while I change my blog again. I love color but that background was just a bit too much for me. I'll be playing with it off and on today, in between making campaigns for work. I'd also like to make myself a new header.
