A Couple of Paintings
My neighbor was throwing out some particle board. I believe it's subflooring. I got it and painted it. I call it "Be Still and Know." It's pretty big, but exactly how big I'm not sure since as I was measuring it, my measuring tape jumped inside its little plastic box and got all wound up. I think it was about 24"x16". It's very heavy. I have to get some wire attached to it for hanging. I liked the way this piece took the paint so I went back and grabbed the other piece she was throwing away. It's tall and thin. I haven't decided what to put on it yet.
This one is on canvas board. I did a painting a while back and I liked it but it never felt finished. Yesterday I decided to paint this woman on it, but after I got her painted, I no longer liked the background so I ended up changing it entirely. If I'd known I was going to do that, I would have just done a whole new painting on something else but that's ok. I like this one better anyway.
I've been working on my yard, planting some flowers and generally cleaning up. It is suddenly summer!
I hope everyone is having a good week.

Beautiful paintings! I like to paint on different surfaces. It's fun to see how different things take the paint.

These are both wonderful! I especially like the one on particle board. It's very haunting.

I like both these paintings....the faces are so cool. And I love that you're using things that would otherwise have ended up in the trash! That's my kind of recycling.
Awesome recycled art. I like using found things in art too. You have been doing so much lately.
sending love

Aloha Lisa,

It's always a good thing when you find a new material for your art--especially if it's free!! lol love the face, it's an eye-grabber!

Woo hoo Girl! Good for you for recycling! ... I love them. I found a huge antique gypsy trunk that someone threw away! you should have seen me tugging it home...I was walking the 2 hounds at the time too.
Beautiful. I love how they fill the whole canvas! Very rich looking!

Wonderful works Froggy! I know that you name isn't Froggy but I just can't help but call ya that. Right when I met you my father was in "Frog and Toad". I think that's very neat. :) Anyway, outstanding post!I LOVE the paintings!

Lisa...
She's oh so unique, and calm. I feel she's strong..she knows herself..she knows she's Grace. To me..she's the essence of a spirit doll...on canvas. She looks like she could walk off the page and sit with me a while.
Thank you for painting this living blessings! And I thank God for you in my life.. you are indeed the gift that keeps on giving.
I love you girl...and look forward to meeting in person someday... at our retreat centers, yours...then mine lol!!..
