Sunday Art

First, I want to thank Violette for awarding me the Rockin' Girl Blogger!! I am so excited to receive this award and to have Violette award it is big for me. Meeting her changed my life in a very positive way. Perhaps one day, I will have the words to express my gratitude and explain the change she made.

I was inspired by Inspire Me Thursday to do this Goddess painting.

Inanna is quoted, saying "I went there of my own free will. I went there in my finest gown, with my rarest jewels, with my Queen of Heaven crown. In the Underworld, at each of the Seven Gates, I was stripped seven times of all I thought I was. Till I stood bare in who I really am."

Whew. A blessing or a curse? I guess it depends, huh?

The other pic is a picture frame I am painting.

I was really stuck today. I desperately wanted to create something but was quite uninspired. Thank Goodness for Inspire Me Thursday and for all the people (like Cheryl Finley) who inspired me to check it out.

I am still living in bliss, in case anyone was wondering. :>)

Have a great week everyone.

Lisa....the goddess painting and the words are poignant. We are covered in many layers....taking them all away to find the essence of who we are....I think it's a blessing.

Stripping ourselves bare to find the real person is something powerful and beautiful and sometimes quite difficult. This painting and the quote is a perfect example of doing just that. I love it!

Lisa,
I am struck by this frame. The colors speak to me, and your unique painting of it. Seeing it inspires me and I hear from within that "we can choose to paint the frame in which we view our life, and we can "reframe" our view whenever we need to." Wow! I needed to be reminded of that! Thank you for inspring that wisdom to bubble-up in me; and thank you for sharing your creativity!

And, that was sweet of you to mention me re: Inspire Me Thursday. I too love it and the wonderful kindred spirits that have come into my life as well.

Godspeed my sister...

P.S. I'm happy that you're still in bliss : )!!
