Transition

I strolled down to CUPS, a local coffee shop and enjoyed a pot of tea, a spinach/feta croissant and a play in my art journal. It was wonderful.

I'm really starting to understand that I need to put time into art.

Patrick and I own our own business. When people are late paying or merchants drop out, it can be a big hit so I've been looking for extra employment.

I was spending so much energy looking for jobs and then applying. I was spending hours a day doing this plus time worrying and wringing my hands and then checking my email for replies.

Finally, I realized that if I just put that much energy into doing and promoting art and art-related things, I could  make being an artist work for me.

A huge part of that is accepting what you work for, too. I realize now how often I would put myself out there and then turn down the opportunity because I didn't feel ready or good enough.

Now, I'm just saying, YES.

Yes to anything that is in alignment with my dreams and goals. Yes!

After spending time with Tricia, I was even more excited about actively seeking ways to do what I love.

I've been spending my creative thinking time to come up with ways of using my talents to serve the community  and help myself at the same time.

On Saturday, I facilitated a SoulCollage workshop. I didn't charge what I typically do, but you know what? I had more folks show up and they asked, "when's the next one?" I said, "whenever you want." We will now be meeting once a month! That was so exciting and rewarding.

I was also asked to teach art to a Kindergarten Class. I did and it was absolutely wonderful.

I've had new people asking about my art on facebook and I decided to make prints of several of my pieces. I have two folks who want them already. I've ordered them and hopefully will pick them up in the next day or two and get them listed.

After the SoulCollage workshop at Seeds of Light  (I didn't realize until I went to grab the link that she has the next class up on her website already. Yay!)....where was I? Oh yeah...after the workshop, I bought some Doreen Virtue Archangel Oracle Cards. They are amazing. I was a good girl and consecrated them before playing with them and I am truly taken aback by how personal they feel.

This morning I decided to choose a card for the day. "What do I need to be thinking about today?" This card jumped out of the deck, like a fish jumping out of water, as I was shuffling. I've read in numerous places that this is a card to pay attention to so I did. Here is what it said:

Career Transition; Archangel Chamuel:
"Your life purpose is triggering a blessed career change."

How about that? :)

I'm ready.

Lisa,

The whole tone of the post is inspiring an uplifting. I see you at a crossroads and I see you taking a new direction now. One that will feed you inside. I have a couple of Doreen Virtue's decks but not that particular one. Here cards always seem to be right on. I'll be rooting for you in this new phase of your life.
