This handsome young man. My first born. He's moving to Colorado first thing in the morning.
His mommy is having a little trouble processing that.
How can he go so far away?
Did we teach him everything he needs to know?
Actually, he learned so many things on his own. He is very intelligent and aware in a way that surpasses all who had anything to do with teaching him.
Does he know how much we love him? All of us? His dad, Marianne, me, Patrick, Mike, Emily...friends, family...does he know? I hope so. I hope that love stays in his heart and carries him wherever he wants to go.
My heart is heavy because I will miss him. I will miss knowing that he's right here. I will miss knowing that he might just drop in.
I will adjust, though.
I know he's doing the right thing. He's going to work for a company that was practically created just so he could be employed there. :)
I know he will be happy.
I will miss him desperately but I know that I have to let go.
Whew.
It sure isn't easy.

Hugs and comfort to you, and congratulations on raising such a fine young man!

Thank you Brandy. Your hugs are very welcomed. I didn't expect this to be so hard and it's good to have friends around. :)
Being the oldest myself and packing up just shy of a year ago to move 800 miles from home, I'm sure that he knows all of you love him and that he will cherish it.
The best of luck to him in his new home and lots of love to you as you adjust, Lisa. *hug*
Colorado is a great place to live--been here all my life! ♥♫
He knows. Of course he knows.
And from now on, every time you get to see him and spend moments with him will be even more precious and you will be even more aware of how much you love him.
Hugs,
Sophie
what is that quote? Give them wings and they will always fly back to you....something like that. Hugs to him for finding his wings and hugs to YOU for providing him with a nest of love he knows he has wherever he goes.
XOXO
Thank you all so much. Your words mean a lot to me. I'm getting ready to go over to say goodbye to him right now so your words will strengthen me so I don't ugly cry in front of him. :)
Lisa - he looks so sensible, I think youve done a great job! he will be fine, and I'm in the same boat as you, the nest is shrinking, and us mums will all be just fine!
Whew, I sure hope so. Thank you so much. We'll just have to lean on each other. :)
Yeah, it doesn't matter what the head says, the heart strings still pull... but all will be well, i'm sure... you probably have most adjusting to do,lol. x
Lisa, It's Caroline your neighbor now in Ecuador. What a lovely tribute to your son and your love for him. I wish you both well as you start this new phase of his life.
Caroline
Nope, it isn't easy. My other twin lives in Las Vegas. How far is that from Florida??? Sigh....I miss her terrible but she has to live her life her way. Your baby is doing the same. He'll still love you though. You'll probably get a lotta phone calls. :)
Thank you all. I appreciate it more than I can say. I am starting to adjust. Knowing that he's there and settling in and happy helps a lot. Knowing that I have such kind friends helps a lot, too. ♥
