Old finish and Some New Things

This is a needleroll I did several years ago. Shortly after I made this, I gave up cross-stitching because my eyes could not focus on those tiny stitches and I would lose my place, having to start over counting again. Lately, my eyes seem to be changing again so I'm going to give it another go.

Cross-stitch is the reason I started this blog in the first place. In fact, come to think of it, this needleroll is the reason I started this blog. I did this as part of a stitchalong.

I love the needleroll dearly, not only because it's pretty but because it was really challenging (for me) and I was able to finish it.

The pattern below is for a second needleroll. It came with the first one. Apparently I started it but I don't really remember it. I don't like the way the bunnies turned out, so I'm going to frog the bunnies and do them over and then carry on with the needleroll. Wish me luck!

Below is a doll I'm working on. I'm doing some free embroidery doodling on it.
And this is a dishcloth. Not too exciting but I needed another one and I love crocheting my own.
This morning we went to the local farmer's market and bought these yummy oat cookies.
And finally, we got there in time to buy some strawberries. The last time I walked down they were sold out! They are so sweet and juicy. Nothing like fresh.
After a little more blog cruising, I'm going to get to stitching that needleroll. I sure hope my eyes cooperate!

Thank you all for all of the amazing comments on my last post. I think that's the most comments I've ever had. My grandma would be shyly proud and happy. :)

I hope you're having a great long weekend.

I haven't done any counted cross stitch in years! It used to be the only thing I did. Your needle roll is so pretty. Isn't it fun to go back and look at things you've created.

Have a fun weekend....enjoy those strawberries. They look so good!!!

I want to learn that. I think the needle roll is darling and I don't even know what a needle roll is.
Strawberries...yumm!

Janet, it is fun to go back and look. Sometimes I like my old stuff better than my new stuff. lol The strawberries are so good. I think we need to eat them all up today.

Mahala, your comment made me laugh! I didn't know what a needleroll was either but apparently it's a Victorian era equivalent to a pin cushion? I think. Most stitchers just make tons of them and put them in baskets for display, though.

How neat is that needle roll? I's been years since I cross stitched. I always enjoyed it, maybe I ought to pick it up again. It is a relaxing craft!

It is! I've spent most of the day just looking at other bloggers' cross stitch. lol That's relaxing, too, but I really need to make a few stitches myself. :)

Lisa,
You truly do inspire me! How often do I tell you that?? Not enough, I know that for sure.
Is there anything you can't do?? Surely not. :) And the world is a better place for it!

Lisa,

Believe it or not, I've never heard of a needleroll? I love yours. Very feminine and charming.
