White Paint Rules

I bought this little birdie at the Dollar Tree. I think it was last summer. Initially he was in the flower garden with some pretty petunias. But a few weeks ago, I cleaned him up and brought him inside. I was toying with idea of painting him all white.

Then, this week, I saw the same little birdie on Melissa's blog and she had painted hers white. It looked great! So I borrowed some spray paint from Nick (it's only fair, he has my sewing machine at the moment) and....

I think it looks much better. Now I just walk around looking for more things to spray paint.

Look at this disaster!

I was stitching away last night when I got a knot and when I pulled it a tad too hard, it ripped. I was totally being lazy and cutting my floss too long so I wouldn't have to keep stopping and rethreading so it serves me right, I guess.

You would think I would be mad or sad. Patrick looked at me with horror when he heard me gasp, but then I started laughing. This piece was never meant to be. First, I scorched it ironing on the pattern. Now this. The design was a very small part of the generously sized towel so I have plenty of pieces for stitching other things and I may even find a way to salvage part of this. As I told Patrick, "Oh well, it makes a funny blog story." What did people do before blogs anyway?

Aloha Lisa..
I love the little white bird. I spray paint all my angels white and they go in my flower garden.
Have you thought of spraying glass from the inside? like a plate?
peace, Kai

Aww--your little bird looks so sweet painted white!

I had to chuckle over your embroidery story--can't tell you how many projects I have screwed up in one way or another. I love your attitude!
