A Relaxing Weekend and some Art.

My "new" kitchen shelf. My grandpa made this, probably 20 years ago. This is the third time I've painted it.

I got a phone call yesterday from a friend. Her pet
rat had died and she wanted to bury her here in our
garden. We lit a candle and scattered some rose petals
on the grave.

One of our little garden patches. So far, we have
tomato plants and watermelon!

Art doll I made yesterday and today. It's made from water bottles, corks, a detergent
lid, clay face, wire, tape, bits of fabric scraps and the legs from a doll I made and took
apart several months ago. The arms have already been recycled into spirit dolls but the
legs were just hanging out in the cabinet.

We've had a pretty quiet weekend. Went to the community market yesterday and left with about 10 people wanting to participate in a SoulCollage workshop in August, re-made a
connection with a therapist who came to one of my workshops and wants me to come to his
practice and do SoulCollage with his patients and maybe some art journaling, too. Also
connected with the sweet man who put together a raffle to benefit Healing Through Creativity.

Saw so many friends and made a couple of new ones. One guy I recognized from someone's
birthday party pics on facebook! She had just posted them that morning so when I saw him,
I recognized him immediately and told him. He turned out to be a sweetheart and wants to
attend one my workshops. He's doing an aromatherapy workshop in June that I may attend.

I love my neighborhood!

We weeded another little patch for gardening yesterday. Patrick grilled and we watched a movie.

Today he's writing and I'm vegging in front of flickr.

A perfect weekend. Hope yours has been!

Awesome art doll!
The face looks like
the man in the moon.
Is it? Are those legs
water proof?

Sorry about your friends
little pet. Have you ever
visited Kathrine Dunn's
blog? She has a special
place to bury all the
little creatures that come
into her life.

If you get a chance come by
my blog and click on Pino Pie
events or donate aprons and
embellished squares. It will
take you to either her blog or
her donkey's blog Pino.

Congrats with all the connections
you've made.

I like this type of art you've
been creating. The shelf turned
out beautiful. I like the old
colors you had on it too.

It's nice to be able to change the colors with a little paint and imagination when you want to change the decor of your home.

God Bless You and Yours
and Your Creative Lives
and business!!!

What a winderful way to spend the weekend!

I am sorry to hear about your neighbor's pet! Losing a pet is really devastating. I felt that kind of loss when my cat died last year.

Flassie, "or her donkey's blog" made me smile. :) Thanks for your sweet comments. Her legs aren't waterproof which is a shame because, as an afterthought, I would have liked her in the garden. She is on a table in the bathroom, though, and she makes me smile there.

Marie, thank you. I was surprised by how attached I could get to that rat. She was so sweet. I'm sorry about your cat. That is such a difficult loss. I lost one after 15 years (a long while ago now) and I still miss her.

Oh my, Lisa. That little doll has a face that says "Well, this is how my mom dressed me today." It's so cute. Nice of you to offer your garden for the pet grave. I lost one of my yellow keets, "Otherbird", a couple of months ago, and I buried her under a jasmine tree that blooms over and over, and continuously drops scented petals on her little
headstone. That makes me feel good. xoxoxoxoxo to you!

Judie, that cracked me up. Now I am going to think of that every time I pass her! Thank you. :)

I'm sorry about Otherbird. She was lucky to live with you and to have such care taken of her even now.

Hi Lisa , I see you've been very busy , with art and a business , plus your soul collage work. It's wonferful everything is falling in to place for you.
Glad to see you're planting a small garden , I'm busy these days in the garden. I was thinking that doll you made would make a perfect "Garden Angel" if the legs were waterproof.

~ Many Blessings ~
