Revealing myshelf to you.

I've been busy working on these shelves. The pink/orange one was a very dark little shelf that I bought at Goodwill for a buck. The larger shelf is one my Grandfather made for me over 20 years ago and was a light pine. I never thought I'd paint it but I recently got it out of storage and wanted to use it and the light pine just didn't work for me anymore. I hope Grandpa wouldn't mind the funky painting on it. :)

The painting is one I did a few months ago and forgot about. I found it and framed it a couple of weeks ago. I'm thinking of painting the frame to funkify it a bit.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday and has an awesome week.

Cute play on words! The shelves are just like you....bright and happy. Your art always makes me smile. I know I keep saying this but it's true. Happiness just oozes from all your art.

You know, I used to cringe at the thought of painting over wood and losing it's natural beauty under layers of paint but I'm getting over that. Years ago I stripped down my kitchen cabinets and restored them to a wood finish, thinking I'd NEVER paint over them, but...I'm so itching to paint them these days. Seeing your shelves reminds me that I have a few unfinished shelves that just might take away that itch for awhile.

And you can always strip them down and restain and varnish them if you want. Nothing is lost and your grandfather is likely taking delight in your creativity.

Janet, thank you so much! I can't think of anything I'd rather hear. I am definitely the happiest I've ever been (so far! :) )

Gina, I have no problem covering up dark wood but, for some reason, I really hesitated to paint that light shelf. I'm happy that I did it, though! I hope you'll show us your shelves when they're done!

Cheryl, Thank you. You are a bright and shining star in my world, too! It's so great to have friends who trade creative energy!

In the words of my very favorite birthday card, "Anyone can bring the green bean casserole, not everyone can bring the funk." You bring it, Lisa! You are a bright spot in my day because of your funkiness and your kindness. I love your shelves AND your new banner.

Hey Froggy! I really, really, really like the painted shelf. It's wonderful. It's terrific. It makes me feel like picking up a paintbrush again! Betcha you could sell some like that at your Saturday Market. And I also really, really like the girl. How nice that you found it and framed it. It's perfect, isn't it? Luv you! xoxoxo

Came by to thank you for praying for me! I'm on my way. I was able to do a lot yesterday.

I added cute eye glass case tutorial in that same blog
entry.

Awesome Art! Love the shelves
and the painting.

The painting reminds me a little bit of something I might see Piccaso paint. His painting The Head of a Woman. The Dream a bit too. I think it's the nose. Maybe it reminds me a little of Cubisum?

GOD Bless You and Yours!!!
