Trash Day

I just had to share these two experiments. I drink a lot of bottled water. Our water is so chlorinated that it actually makes you more thirsty to drink it. ha! I'm always trying to think of something else to do with the bottles than add them to the growing waste problem so I came up with RE(BA)Cycle. Reba, for short. She has beertab feet, some brush from the side of the road gathered from a walk, a paper clay face that's been wired on and lots of glitter foil to fill the bottle. I left the middle exposed, quite by accident (the paper came off after I painted over it) which left a nice view to the glittery goodness! Oh yeah, and the arm was given to me by someone who found it. Good friends bring you garbage, right? :)

When I finished off a bottle of Palmolive dishwashing liquid, I decided to try recycling it, as well. So, Prom Olive was born! I gave her a crepe dress with a belt and scarf made from a plastic bag. Her head is made of plastic bags wrapped in a piece of paper bag that was wrapped with tape. I drew her face with markers before putting the tape on. Her hair is some string I found in my junk drawer and her barrette is made from two plastic beads. She makes me laugh! She's all ready for prom. I can just hear the other "jealous" girls now, "Her hair is stringy and she's soooo transparent."

Have a great weekend everyone!

You must be thinking 24/7 to come up with all these clever ideas. I think they're cute and catchy and they made me laugh. I especially like Prom Olive! She'll be a hit at the dance!!

Have a great weekend.
