Turtle, Turtle

I made these Gratitude Beads today. They're the longest I've made. From the end bead to the end of the turtle is about 26 inches. They wrap around my hand a couple of times. I used black waxed linen cord. I love that stuff. It's tough, knots nicely and goes through the beads without a needle.

It's been raining here most of the day. I'm so glad I took my walk early this morning before it started. I called Mike to ask him if he wanted a ride from the bus stop today since it was pouring. He first said no, but then he called me back and I gave him a ride to his friend's house. It's warm outside but the rain is ice cold!! Invigorating. :)

I've been reorganizing my art stuff a little bit today. I feel like my focus is narrowing, which is a great thing, so I'm trying to organize according to the things I'm doing most often. I pulled all my beads together into a basket, along with the tools I need. Of course, while I was doing this I just had to make the Gratitude Beads...you know, just to be sure it was working for me. :)

Have a great day everyone. Love you!

Hi Lisa,
I'm so glad you stopped by my jewelry blog today. I love, love, love your gratitude beads..I love the idea and the beads too! I've been playing around with the prayer/meditation beads idea. I bought a book on it a few years ago...it had a catchy name, but can't think of the title right now. Anyway, your art is beautiful and inspiring!

I have so much to catch up on!

Love the gratitude beads you have been making Lisa. And these ones are particularly beautiful. Sounds like you are really getting into beads (they are very addictive aren't they?). You have a real flair for putting colors together and this shows in your wonderful gratitude beads. Beautiful work and beautiful you!!!

Lovely beads. The green is incredibly soothing.

I've been pouring over a bead catalog the past few days. I am toying with either necklaces for C's teachers or wind spinners - but I just can't seem to narrow down my bead choices...

The turtle gratitude beads are too cool, Lisa~ If I had a labyrinth near me, I think I'd find myself there pretty often. Enjoy your weekend.

This is such a fabulous idea - I think now more than ever I need to make some for myself! I will couple them with my stones from Kai as reminders.
