He still loves watermelon. ;) He's still sweet, smart and loving. I have the highest hopes and dreams for this creative boy who graces my life.

You're a wonderful son, Mike, and I love you with all my heart and then some.

whenever I read this messages about ones love for their children, the passage of time, the fond memories I can't help but be envious. Michael is so lucky to have a mom who cherishes him so.

my baby girl is now 17 - I have absolutely no idea where those years went. I hope he had a wonderful day (oh, I am sure he did!)

Hope Mike had lots of fun on his Bday. Treasure him ...they grow up and are on their own so soon.

Thank you Lisa. Like all families, we have our days we're in and the days we're out (as Heidi would say) but I am very grateful to have my boys in my life. I've actually learned quite a bit from them. :)

Kristi, I told Mike that my blog friends were wishing him a happy birthday. He thought that was the coolest thing.

Amy Yes. People used to tell me how quickly it goes and they were right.

Robyn, My older son is 17. I can't even wrap my mind around that. Mike had a good day. His dad has been on vacation this week and they've spent the week with him. I talked to Mike on the phone yesterday (last night) and it sounds like he's having a blast. Next week, he and I are going to Logan's (roadhouse?) restaurant. We've been planning it since his last birthday. He wants to go there because you can throw the peanut shells on the floor.

Gemma, Whew, that's the truth. I'm trying to hold on to every second. I'm better at it some days than others.
