Curtains

Here are two pics of the new curtains. I couldn't get a good one of the others up. They are so light that they don't even show up. They're very simple and I am pleased with them. Tim likes them, too, and while I was considering trimming them with some of the floral fabric, he told me to leave them alone. lol I think he's right and I will do just that. :) (but there shall be pillows!)

Lisa, if you want to add something to these how about some of that trim with crystals hanging off it? You could attach just a line of it across the top or bottom. It would give it some froo froo, but, still be simple. It also catches the light and looks lovely.

Cindi, Oh that does sound neat. I had thought of using beads earlier.

I cut the trim and was going to put just a line across the top but hubby really, really likes them the way they are and I figure they're very versatile this way...I can change accessories and have a whole new look whenever I want...from cottage to prim, etc...

Thanks so much for the idea though and I'll be storing that away in the memory banks for a future project!

They are so pretty! You`ve done a great job :-)
I`ve never really given sewing a fair chance, but with all these lovely creations I feel like trying it again!

Very nice! Beads would be nice on them but I agree that they are much more versatile without trim. I enjoy making simple curtains too!

Very good job Lisa, they are more versatile simple, but the beads idea is pretty too, reminds me of something I saw at...was it Kali's site? (I hope I'm remembering the name right).
I love your comment Cindi "froo, froo" I like that expression, going to use that in a future conversation :o)

Great job, Lisa! I really need some decorating ideas for our little house. It's not making me happy at the moment.

I like your curtains a lot, Lisa! They look really lovely, and the cusions you made with the big heart on looks so great beside it at the sofa. And a lot of cusions in matching colors are SO lovely!! :)

Lisa, man, you work really fast. Everytime I come visit your blog there is a picture of something else you have finished doing. You are awesome. Keep up the great work and wonderful pictures for me to drool over. I will live through you with all the ideas floating in my head, and no time to do it.

Thank you so much for all the kind comments. The sun is shining on them and it looks very homey, so I am pleased. :) I will definitely be using the beading idea (Sarah..yes Kali's bowl cover...loved that so much) later on something else, for sure.

I got really lucky last night to have such a long, uninterrupted time to sew. My boys left early with their dad to go have dinner with their stepmom and stepbrother who was in town. I had taken Caleb to work at noon (as soon as I got home from church) awwww...hubby just came through and commented again on how much he likes the curtains. :)...let's see, where was I? I had taken Caleb to work early so he was already gone when Tim left for work. That left only my motherinlaw and I only had to stop for her a couple of times. No tv, no radio, no talking, no noise except the occasional "ouch" that escaped when I pinned myself and the whirr of the sewing machine. I finished just in time to pick Caleb up from work at midnight. I know, a long day for him. Heaven for me. Now I am itching to do something else.....I'm off to figure out what to do. :)

Thanks for all your comments. They mean so much to me.

Lisa, I tried to look at the link with the picture you sent me, but it was something wrong with it.

Hulda, I emailed the link to you. I think it got cut off when I put it in your comment box.

You did good, Lisa. Maybe you could make some sashes with the fabric you were going to trim them in and then pillows from the same fabric.

I'm glad I checked your comments again, as your comment is almost a post. And I thought "awww" as I imagined you beavering away at your pretty makings. Your man and boys do seem to work unusual hours, I take it they are not 9-5 men? "Working 9 to 5 what a way to make a living..." getting a bit musical for 7.45 am! Lol.

Lisa said...

Kristi, hmmm I may just do that. Thanks. :)

Sarah, they sure aren't 9-5 men. (hehe, I haven't had coffee yet, so no singing here) They're about to wear me out and that's just the two out of four! Before we got the car, I was having to take Tim to work and rush back to take Caleb to work..lol...I felt like a work shuttle. It's much better now, although, it won't hurt my feelings a bit when Caleb starts driving. :) (as long as he doesn't want to use my new/old car) lol
